Studying at Toronto Metropolitan University’s Faculty of Arts will give you an edge in economics, allowing you to study human behaviour—from how individuals make decisions to societal challenges. They will give you a framework for thinking systematically about these issues.

With the Faculty of Arts’ 10 departments, you will be able to find your passion while gaining valuable skills such as research, analytical thinking, and written communication.

Toronto Metropolitan University’s Faculty of Arts Basic Requirements for Admission
Toronto Metropolitan University offers 2 types of programs:
Grades-Only programs select students on the basis of academic performance. Grades-Plus programs select students on the basis of academic performance plus non-academic requirements, such as auditions, interviews, portfolios, essays, etc.
Minimum admission requirements (subject to change):
- Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
- 6 Grade 12 U/M courses with a minimum overall average of 70%.
- All programs also stipulate specific prerequisite subject requirements. Grades required for admission are determined on the basis of competition each year.
- A minimum overall average of 70% in six Grade 12 U/M courses establishes your eligibility to apply for admission.
Toronto Metropolitan University’s Faculty of Arts Academic Requirements
A minimum overall average of 70%, and an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses following the program specific requirements. They will also consider your complete academic record (e.g. college, university), as part of the process.

The faculty of arts has a fee range of $7,035 – $7,103. On campus accommodation ranges From $9,289.06 – $12,945.06 (plus meal plan). Off campus accommodation ranges from $12,000 – $21,600 for 12 months’ rent. Transportation costs at least $128 within the Greater Toronto Area for a monthly public transit pass Books and Supplies would be $1,400 – $8,000 depending on program of study Food from $4,384 to $5,949 depending on living arrangements Personal Expenses around $3,200 – $5,600
