Western University Libraries: Overview

Western Libraries comprises of 12 libraries that support the research and teaching needs of the university. It also provides services and resources to distance learners and members of the Western community. All libraries’ resources are available online, making them accessible to anyone with a computer and an internet connection. In addition, it offers various services, including reference assistance, interlibrary loans, event programming, and much more. Western is committed to providing an excellent user experience and strives to create a welcoming environment for all.

What Do Western Libraries have to offer?

Western Libraries offer a wide variety of resources and services to support the university community. In addition to providing materials for research and study, we also offer programs and events that enhance the university experience. Our knowledgeable staff can always help students, faculty, and staff with their information needs. The university also offers a variety of spaces for students to study, work on group projects, or simply relax. Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to read or a cozy spot to curl up with your laptop, Western Libraries has something for everyone.

How Many Libraries does Western Have?

Western University has a total of eleven libraries. They are divided into Western, Affiliate, and community libraries. Western libraries include C.B Johnston, John & Dotsa Bitove Family Law, Music, Allyn & Betty Taylor, and D.B Weldon. Affiliate libraries include Beryl Ivey, Huron, G. Emmett Cardinal Carter, and St.Peter’s Seminary. Community libraries include London public and Fanshawe College. D.B. Weldon Library, the main library on campus, and ten specialized libraries that focus on topics like business, law, music, and education. The eleven libraries are spread across Western’s main campus in London, Ontario, Canada. Western’s library system has a collection of over four million items, including books, journals, electronic resources, and more. The library system also offers various services, such as research support, interlibrary loans, and computer access. If you’re looking for a particular book or resource, chances are good that you’ll be able to find it at one of Western’s eleven libraries.
