Queen’s Dr. Iris May Marsh Memorial Award: Overview

Queen’s offers several Entrance Awards including the Queen’s Dr. Iris May Marsh Memorial Award to exceptional students entering their first year of study. These awards are made possible through the generous support of their donors, and the awards recognize academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement.
To be considered for a Queen’s Entrance Award, students must submit a completed Queen’s Undergraduate Admission Application by December 1st for September entry. There are several automatic entrance awards, but students also have the opportunity to apply for major entrance awards such as the Queen’s Dr. Iris May Marsh Memorial Award. The Queen’s Dr. Iris May Marsh Memorial Award
Established by a bequest from Doris E. Marsh in memory of her sister, Doctor Iris May Marsh, Arts ’57 and awarded to a student entering the first year of any program at Queen’s University. The selection of the recipient will be based on a combination of financial need, superior academic ability, proven leadership qualities, and involvement in the life of his or her school and community. The $48,000 scholarship is offered to incoming Queen’s students that meet the following criteria: superior academic ability, creative and original thinking, proven leadership qualities, financial need, the permanent family residence must be in Ontario and involvement in the school and community. There are five available every year.
