McMaster Entrance Scholarships

There are two types of entrance awards: automatic awards and awards by application. Automatic awards are granted to you upon your admission to McMaster, based on your academic merit or financial aid status. The automatic awards are:

The McMaster University Award of Excellence

Established in 2020 to celebrate the academic achievements of students entering a Level 1 program in the top 10% of their Faculty.

• Value: $3000
• Eligibility for Award:
• Incoming high school students entering Level 1 of their first baccalaureate degree program (open to domestic and international students).
• The achievement of a final admission average in the top 10% of your Faculty.

Faculty-Specific Achievement Awards

Established in 2020 to celebrate the academic achievements of students entering Level 1.

• Value: $1000-$3000
• Eligibility for Award:
• Incoming high school students entering Level 1 of their first baccalaureate degree program (open to domestic and international students).
• The achievement of a minimum final admission average as determined by your Faculty. Award cut-offs vary by Faculty.

Eligible students will receive either the Award of Excellence or the Faculty-specific Achievement Award.

There are also several Faculty-Administered Awards which are automatically granted based on your entering Faculty, like the McMaster Ashbaugh Scholarship!
