How Does UofC Weigh Its Admission Applications?

The University of Calgary is a public research university located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The University of Calgary started in 1966 as the Calgary University College. University of Calgary Admissions are based on students’ academic achievement in high school and/or their post-secondary studies. The University of Calgary has International Admissions for Graduate Studies and offers a number of ways to finance your education, including scholarships and financial aid. You can study full-time or part-time at the University of Calgary, with various programs offered at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Located in the heart of the city, the University of Calgary offers its students a unique experience with countless opportunities to get involved on campus and in the community. What Does the University of Calgary Admissions Application Consist of?
The University of Calgary Admissions Application is available online and must be completed in full in order to be considered for admission. The application includes the following sections: Personal Profile, Academic History, Supporting Information, and Fee Payment. In the Personal Profile section, applicants will provide basic information about themselves, such as name, contact information, and date of birth. The Academic History section will require applicants to submit their transcripts and any other relevant academic documents. The Supporting Information section is where applicants will write their personal statements and submit letters of recommendation. Lastly, the Fee Payment section will require applicants to pay the applicable application fee. After the University of Calgary, Admissions Application has been submitted, applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview. This interview is required for all applicants and allows them to discuss their motivation for pursuing a university education.
The Weighing of Applications
The University of Calgary employs a detailed and comprehensive process when weighing applications for admission. First and foremost, the admissions team looks at an applicant’s academic record. They consider factors such as the type of school the applicant attended, the grades achieved, and any specialized courses or programs that were completed. In addition, the team looks at standardized test scores, letters of recommendation, and personal essays. The admissions team also takes into account an applicant’s extracurricular activities and community involvement. Ultimately, the goal is to create a well-rounded class of students who will contribute to the campus community in a variety of ways. By taking all of these factors into account, the University of Calgary is able to identify those applicants who are most likely to succeed in their academic and professional pursuits.
