Public Transportation
Queen’s University is located in Kingston, Ontario, a small city with a population of approximately 123,000. The university is situated on the lakefront, and the campus is spread out over several blocks. As a result, many students rely on public transportation to get around. The Kingston Transit system offers bus service throughout the city, and there are also several taxi companies that operate in Kingston. For students who live off-campus, there are also several private companies that offer transportation services to and from campus.
Parking at Queen’s University
Queen’s University is located in the heart of Kingston, Ontario, and is one of Canada’s leading research universities. The campus is spread over 1,000 acres, and more than 25,000 students are enrolled in programs at the university. Given the size of the campus and the number of people who need to get around it daily, parking can be a challenge. There are more than 14,000 parking spots on campus, but they are often full. As a result, many students and staff must park off-campus and walk to their destination. In addition to being inconvenient, this can also be dangerous, especially during winter weather. The university is working to improve the parking situation by adding new parking lots and increasing shuttle service. In the meantime, students and staff are encouraged to carpool or use public transportation whenever possible.
